Our Story

I’ve been decorating for Diwali since I was 10 years old . I started planning months in advance, always searching for unique decorations. After moving to Australia over 9 years ago, I struggled to find the variety I wanted, and everything available was expensive and limited. My parents would help by sending things from India. They would go around to every shop in Jalandhar, Punjab, finding the perfect pieces I loved. But when I no longer had anyone in India to do that, I realized how important it was for people like me to have access to beautiful, unique decorations here in Australia.

That’s how Magic Potli began—with the idea of sourcing these decorations from India and making them available here at reasonable prices. I wanted to cover my costs at first, but soon I realized that it was more than that. It was about helping people bring the vibrant, magical feel of Indian festivals into their homes.

I want to see Australia light up with the same festive spirit we see in India. Whether it’s the glow of Diwali and the joy of Gurupurab in Punjab, the excitement of Navratri in Gujarat, the energy of Ganesh Chaturthi in Maharashtra, the warmth of Pongal in Tamil Nadu, or the celebrations of Ugadi in Karnataka and Andhra Pradesh—I want to create that magic here.
